A Denver Favorite Heads Down I-25

Homegrown Tap & Dough opened its first restaurant in Denver in 2011 and has grown along the Front Range under Gastamo Group, which owns and runs every location rather than franchising. The Colorado Springs restaurant is the brand's seventh location and its first in El Paso County.

It takes over the former northeast Jose Muldoon's, which closed in January 2024 after 13 years. The downtown Muldoon's is still open. Kelley Compton, Gastamo Group's first managing partner, will run the new Colorado Springs restaurant, according to ColoradoBiz.

💼 The Jobs: What a 321-Seat Restaurant Needs

The company's latest count is 104 jobs. A January estimate from the company was about 120, so treat the exact number as a moving target. Either way, this is a big room to staff.

Homegrown has not published a list of roles for this location, and we could not confirm which positions are still open days before opening. A full-service pizza house this size typically runs servers, bartenders, hosts, line and pizza cooks, prep and dish crews, and a management team. If you want in, check the company's careers portal now. New restaurants often keep hiring through the first busy weeks as they learn their real traffic.

The company hasn't published pay ranges for these jobs. Ask about pay, tip structure and schedules at the interview.

A Military-Town Opening

The east side location sits a short drive from Peterson Space Force Base. Gastamo Group gives active-duty service members and veterans 10% off year-round, and through November the new restaurant will donate $1 for every 14-inch pizza sold to the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center.

For veterans and military spouses looking for more than a restaurant shift, the Community & Veterans Job Fair on Nov. 10 is the bigger play this fall.
